Recovering after a hospital stay can take many different forms. That’s why McCamey County Hospital District’s Swing Bed Program offers a comprehensive range of therapies and support services — all tailored to help patients regain their independence close to home.
Whether you’re recovering from surgery, illness, or an extended hospital stay, our team is here with expert, personalized care in a comfortable, community-based setting.
Nursing Services
Our nursing staff provides daily medical support, pain management, and patient education. Nurses are often the first point of contact and serve as a constant source of care, encouragement, and reassurance.
Physical Therapy
Our physical therapy team helps patients rebuild strength, balance, and flexibility. Whether your goal is to walk confidently again or regain mobility, therapy plans are customized for safe and steady progress.
Occupational Therapy
Occupational therapists support patients in regaining independence with daily tasks like bathing, dressing, and meal prep. These everyday skills are critical to returning home confidently.
Speech Therapy
Speech therapists help patients recovering from stroke or illness with speech, language, and swallowing functions. Therapy focuses on restoring communication and safe eating.
Respiratory Therapy
Respiratory care services are available for patients with breathing issues or oxygen needs. Our therapists provide treatments and home-care education for managing respiratory conditions.
Nutrition Services
Good nutrition is essential to healing. Our dietitian provides guidance to support recovery and help manage chronic conditions with healthier eating habits.
Pharmacy Services
Our pharmacy team works alongside providers to manage medications safely. They ensure the correct prescriptions, check for interactions, and educate patients on proper use.
Social Work
Social workers help coordinate discharge plans, connect patients with resources, and arrange for in-home care, equipment, or alternative living arrangements as needed.
“Recovery is more than healing a wound or regaining strength — it’s about helping people return to living their lives,” said Cindy Zuniga, Swing Bed Coordinator. “With skilled staff across all these services, our patients receive the support they need to recover in a familiar place, surrounded by people who care.”
At McCamey County Hospital District, we provide post-hospitalization recovery that’s personal, professional, and close to home. Ask your physician or hospital discharge planner about transferring to our Swing Bed Program.
