McCamey County Hospital District is hiring an Assistant Chief Nursing Officer to support a variety of clinical and operations functions in the hospital and clinic. This is a newly established position designed to strengthen nursing leadership across the organization to support patients, staff, and hospital operations. The role is ideal for an experienced registered nurse who is ready to take the next step in leadership and help shape a new position in a rural health system.
A New Leadership Role with Meaningful Impact
The Assistant Chief Nursing Officer will play an important role in supporting both patient care and nursing operations. Depending on the selected candidate’s experience, this position will have meaningful responsibility for on-call coverage, infection control and prevention, swing bed case management, and quality improvement initiatives.
“Strong nursing leadership is essential to how we care for patients, support our staff, and continue building services that meet the needs of our community,” said Mo Sheldon, FACHE, CEO of McCamey County Hospital District. “This new Assistant Chief Nursing Officer position will help strengthen our Swing Bed program, quality and patient safety efforts, and nursing operations while giving the right candidate the opportunity to build a meaningful leadership presence.”
Supporting Swing Bed Services and Nursing Operations
McCamey’s Swing Bed program is a vital service for our rural community that eases the transition from an urban hospital to home. The Assistant Chief Nursing Officer will build on our successes to continue growing the program. In addition to leading swing bed case management, including admissions, care coordination, utilization review, discharge planning, and regulatory compliance, this position will help strengthen nursing operations across the hospital. That includes managing nursing schedules and sharing in nursing leadership on-call responsibilities.
