McCamey Rural Health Clinic Welcomes Family Nurse Practitioner Afton DeLeon

McCamey County Hospital District is pleased to welcome Afton DeLeon, MSN, APRN, FNP-C, to the McCamey Rural Health Clinic team. DeLeon will provide primary care for patients of all ages, including children, adolescents, adults, and older adults.

“Afton brings valuable experience across several areas of healthcare, along with a strong understanding of the communities we serve,” said Mo Sheldon, FACHE, chief executive officer of McCamey County Hospital District. “As part of our growing team, she will help expand access to primary care and give local families another trusted clinician close to home.”

DeLeon is a board-certified family nurse practitioner with a background in emergency, rural, hospice, and long-term care nursing. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas at Arlington and provides compassionate, patient-centered care throughout every stage of life.

A lifelong resident of Crane, Texas, DeLeon is dedicated to serving the McCamey community and building lasting relationships with her patients and their families. At McCamey Rural Health Clinic, she will care for a broad range of health needs, including wellness visits, sick visits, preventive screenings, chronic condition management, follow-up care, and general health concerns.

“Afton’s clinical experience and patient-first approach make her an excellent addition to our clinic team,” said Lisa Anderson, McCamey Rural Health Clinic director. “She understands the importance of listening to patients, involving families, and providing care that reflects each person’s individual needs.”

Abiodun Okin-Ayileka, M.D., Belen Ramirez, MPH, MSN, APRN, NP-C, and John Adams, PA-C are also available for appointments and are accepting new patients who would like to establish care.
