Doctors’ Day Spotlight: Abiodun Okin-Ayileka, MD

Committed to Family Medicine. Committed to McCamey.

On Doctors’ Day, we recognize physicians who take care of our community’s health every day. Dr. Abiodun Okin-Ayileka is one of those clinicians.

As a Family Medicine physician, Dr. Okin-Ayileka delivers comprehensive, continuous care to patients of all ages. From routine wellness visits and chronic disease management to preventive screenings and long-term care planning, her role is central to keeping families healthy and informed.

Dr. Okin-Ayileka earned her undergraduate degree in Biochemistry from California State University, Fresno, and her medical degree from Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara in Jalisco, Mexico. She completed her residency at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center of the Permian Basin in 2013, where she served as Chief Resident—an early reflection of her leadership and clinical strength.

With more than 18 years of experience, Dr. Okin-Ayileka brings depth, steadiness, and accountability to every patient interaction. She is board-certified in Family Medicine and actively involved in professional organizations including the American Academy of Family Physicians, the American Board of Family Medicine, the Texas Medical Association, and the Texas Academy of Family Physicians. She has also served on the Commission on Continuing Professional Development and as a National Conference Alternate Delegate for TAFP.

Her work goes beyond appointments. In a rural community, a family physician is often the first call, the trusted advisor, and the steady presence across generations. That consistency matters. It means patients do not have to leave town for quality primary care. It means care is coordinated, personal, and accessible.

Today, we thank Dr. Okin-Ayileka for her leadership, her service, and her continued commitment to the families of McCamey. Her dedication reflects the strength of local healthcare and the importance of having experienced physicians close to home.
