McCamey Announces New Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Leadership

McCamey County Hospital District introduced new leadership to guide the physical therapy and rehabilitation department, further enhancing medical services offered locally. Chance Brady, PT, DPT, COMT, OCS, has been promoted to be the new director of MCHD Physical Therapy/Rehabilitation Services.

“Having strong leadership for our rehabilitation services is important for our organization and for the patients we serve,” said Mo Sheldon, FACHE, MCHD CEO. “Physical therapy and rehabilitation services help people regain strength, mobility, and confidence, and we invest in that care to support our community.”

While PT and rehab services have been available locally at MCHD for many years, Brady’s expertise and experience demonstrate the hospital’s continued commitment to strengthening local, high-quality healthcare. For patients recovering from injury, managing pain, rebuilding strength, or working to improve balance and mobility, local rehabilitation services make a meaningful difference.

MCHD’s rehabilitation services support patients at many different points in their care journey. Some may be recovering from an accident. Others may be working through pain that has gradually worsened over time. Some may need help improving balance, restoring movement, or returning to normal function after illness or injury. In each case, the focus remains the same: delivering individualized, skilled, care that helps patients improve quality of life and maintain independence.

Located inside the McCamey Wellness Center, physical therapy services are available for a wide range of conditions, including work or sport injuries, injuries from motor vehicle accidents, chronic pain, headaches, shoulder pain, elbow pain, wrist pain, back pain, hip pain, knee pain, lower leg pain, walking difficulties, balance impairments, and vertigo.

A long-time physical therapist at McCamey and native of West Texas, Brady was born and raised in Odessa and graduated from Odessa High School. He earned his bachelor’s degree in kinesiology from The University of Texas of the Permian Basin, then went on to earn his Doctor of Physical Therapy from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in 2015. Since then, he has built a broad background in rehabilitation care, including outpatient orthopedics, home health, manual therapy, and vestibular rehabilitation.

Brady is a Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapist and an Orthopedic Clinical Specialist, advanced credentials that reflect additional expertise in evaluating and treating musculoskeletal conditions. Over the course of his career, he has worked extensively in outpatient orthopedic settings and also served as a clinical instructor, helping guide physical therapy students during their final year of training. He also has experience providing in-home physical therapy services and helping patients recover from different forms of vertigo through vestibular rehabilitation.

Outside of work, Brady stays active in his church community, where he volunteers in children’s ministry alongside his wife, Rachel, who serves as a children’s pastor. He is also a competitive powerlifter and enjoys comic books and pop culture from the 1980s and 1990s.

“Having physical therapy and rehabilitation services here in McCamey matters for patients and families,” said Brady. “People should not have to leave our community to receive thoughtful, personalized rehabilitation care. This is about improving access, supporting recovery, and continuing to build services people can rely on locally, and I’m honored to be part of the McCamey team.”

Investing in local access to a wide range of services is one of MCHD’s priorities and part of its broader mission to provide dependable, community-based healthcare.
